The Heart Behind the Words
We began Home & Heart Stories as a dream—and with a simple goal: to help children understand difficult topics in a gentle, age-appropriate way. We (Amelia and Nat) are cousins, and after years of parenting—five children for Amelia and one for Nat—we kept finding ourselves in the same place: wanting to explain hard situations with honesty and care, but not always knowing the right words to use. These stories are our way of helping other families navigate those moments, while reminding every child that they are wonderfully unique, deeply valued, and never alone.

With over 20 years of raising children—and listening to family and friends share their own challenges—we saw a real need for gentle, supportive stories. Each story in our collection reflects the honest emotions we’ve witnessed, shaped into whimsical, nurturing tales that help young hearts make sense of loss, change, and love.
